Faye’s Parlour No.2 is a sculptural interior designed for a fashion boutique in Changshu, Jiangsu. The space reimagines the retail experience as something closer to a lounge—where browsing, conversation, and style unfold slowly and intentionally.
The design is built on a shared interest between architect and client in form, structure, and spatial rhythm. Curved surfaces are not freely sculpted, but generated through a ruled system of straight lines that shift and step to create the illusion of flow. This geometric strategy draws inspiration from Naum Gabo’s linear constructions and the layered detailing of Carlo Scarpa.
Walls, ceiling, and built-in casework are wrapped in a continuous layer of microcement, complemented by tone-matched flooring. This unified material palette allows the space to read as one sculptural volume, soft in atmosphere yet precise in form.
Circulation follows a gentle loop, guiding visitors through zones of consultation, display, and interaction. Fixtures are embedded within the architecture—designed not as separate objects, but as moments within the spatial sequence.
Faye’s Parlour No.2 proposes a retail environment that is immersive, tactile, and emotionally measured. It prioritizes atmosphere over spectacle, offering a sanctuary for slowness, presence, and care.
